Boomtown has confirmed its first headliners for 2027, with Bicep and Noisia topping the bill as the Hampshire festival prepares for a major site revamp. The event is set to return to Matterley Estate from August 11 to 15, with organisers promising a fresh chapter under the theme Wild Style.
Bicep to close Lion's Den, Noisia on HYDRO XL
Bicep will make their long-awaited Boomtown debut, closing out the iconic Lion's Den stage. The duo said: "After years of trying to make it work, we are very excited to finally be bringing the live show to Boomtown to close the Lions Den in 2027."
Noisia will headline the HYDRO XL stage, marking a hugely anticipated return after performing what was billed as their final UK show at Boomtown in 2022. The Dutch electronic trio announced their surprise reunion four years after splitting up.
Reflecting on their last appearance, Thijs from Noisia said: "The last time I played Boomtown was during our farewell tour. I remember looking out at 35,000 people filling the entire bowl, there to say goodbye to us. It was an incredible moment, but all I could think was that it should have been the three of us on that stage. So it feels pretty special that we get to come back and play Boomtown together after all."
Site revamp and new transport system
Beyond the music, organisers have teased major changes to the festival site. One of the biggest developments will be a reimagining of Anara Forest, an area known for its woodland dancefloors and performance spaces, with the revamped space set to offer a 360-degree audio-visual experience.
Festival-goers can also look forward to The Transportal, a new green energy-powered transport system designed to connect Downtown with Copperwood Heights and Thrutopia in the Hilltop area.
The changes follow this year's Radical Redesign, which saw the festival expand its footprint by around a third, featuring six districts, 12 main stages and more than 50 hidden venues. Boomtown has increasingly broadened its musical offering in recent years, moving beyond its traditional electronic and bass-led roots.
Full line-up announcement due
The full Phase One line-up is due to be announced on Thursday, November 26, with further acts expected to be revealed. Boomtown Chapter 6: Wild Style takes place from August 11 to 15, 2027, at Matterley Estate in Hampshire.
