Star Wars: Galactic Racer free for Amazon Prime subscribers

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is now available for free to Amazon Prime subscribers through the Amazon Luna cloud gaming service, coinciding with the game's worldwide launch. The arcade racer, developed by UK-based studio Fuse Games, is priced at £49.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but Prime members can stream it at no extra cost.

Game features and availability

The game combines podracing, speeder bikes, landspeeders, and skim speeders within a run-based roguelite structure. It was created by a team with experience on Burnout and Need For Speed. Amazon Luna allows streaming across computers, mobile devices, and smart TVs, though the fast-paced nature of the racer may not be ideally suited to cloud streaming.

Other titles available on Amazon Luna include Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Dispatch, and Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora. The game currently lacks local multiplayer options and custom race creation, but Fuse Games has announced an upcoming update.

Upcoming multiplayer update and DLC

According to a post on X, the developer promised an update within the first few weeks of launch that will increase the multiplayer party size from three to six players. Private lobbies are not yet available. Fuse Games has also confirmed post-launch DLC for Star Wars: Galactic Racer, though specific details have not been announced.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the second high-quality Star Wars game this year, following Zero Company, and there are rumours that Star Wars Jedi 3 could be announced soon.
