Accused: Did I Do It? can now be streamed for free on Channel 4. The 10-episode true crime series, which first premiered in America in 2025, previously made its UK debut on Crime+Investigation.
The series provides first-hand accounts from those accused of a crime, as well as law enforcement and witnesses, walking viewers through every step of proceedings as they discover how the system works and what actually happens when someone is accused of a crime.
What the series covers
The synopsis reads: "Suspects face trial for individual cases of murder, assault and domestic terrorism. But did they do it? This true crime series examines the turning points and evidence that reveal the eventual truth."
Some viewers were initially confused when they saw the episodes seemingly in a different order on Channel 4.
Viewer reactions
Taking to social media to share news of the Channel 4 release, one person said in a TikTok: "This fascinating true crime documentary series was previously only available to watch on NOW TV but it has just been newly added to Channel 4."
They later added: "I found it absolutely fascinating, all 10 episodes are based in the USA... I really enjoyed it and I found it absolutely fascinating."
Drawing similarities from Accused Beyond Reasonable Doubt, also available to stream for free on Channel 4, one person commented: "Watched them all it's so good episode 10 madness", as another echoed: "Been watching this it's so good."
In a separate video, another true crime fan admitted it was a "good true crime series to binge watch." One person replied: "My weekend watch sorted", as another wrote: "I'll have to have a binge." A third penned: "I watched it on crime and investigation it's absolutely gripping."
Warning and praise
After watching one of the episodes for the first time, one person admitted they felt such "rage". The first episode on Channel 4 comes with a strong warning as it reads: "Scenes of a traffic fatality which some may find upsetting. This programme isn't suitable for younger viewers."
With some viewers discovering the release for the very first time, others continue to re-watch as they call for "more seasons" to be released.
Over on IMDb one reviewer previously said: "I binged seven episodes and was hooked." Another, who was hooked "three episodes in", added: "This show really makes you question our judicial system. We get to see what wasn't allowed in trial."
A third stated: "I have begun watching this more recently on the "Crime and Investigation" channel (I'm in the UK) and I have been hooked! I love how we meet the accused. We see the defence team and see why they went the route they went with their defence."
