Arcade Club Bury, Europe's largest video arcade, is extending its opening hours during the October half term, offering children unlimited play on all machines for just £10.
Extended opening hours and entry prices
Located across four floors inside Ela Mill, the venue is open Wednesday to Sunday this week. Hours are 11am to 8pm on Wednesday and Sunday, 11am to 11pm on Thursday and Saturday, and 11am to midnight on Friday, with adults-only access after 6pm on Fridays.
Entry costs £10 for children up to the age of 15, while those aged 16 and over pay £18. Spectators can enter for free. Blue Light Card holders and students also receive reduced entry at £10.
New additions and restored seaside history
This half term, a restored shooting gallery from Blackpool Pier has been installed at the Cork Street venue. Dan Butt of the club said: "It's taken weeks of work to get everything restored and running at full strength, but it's now firing on all cylinders."
Butt added: "It's a wonderful bit of seaside amusement history that's been given a new lease of life, and it's already become incredibly popular with visitors."
Earlier this year, the club introduced an eight-player Sega Outrun 2 SP Super Deluxe setup alongside the original OutRun Deluxe, as well as a new shipment of Japanese arcade games. There are now over 30 new titles across the venue, including a giant Japanese train driving simulator.
Facilities and family amenities
The arcade features hundreds of retro and modern machines, from Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and Sega Rally to modern favourites like Fortnite and Rocket League. Sofas are available for those not playing, with a bar on the second floor and a cafe on the third floor selling stone baked pizzas from £4.95, burgers and hot dogs from £3.95, and nachos from £2.95.
The club previously featured in the film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, with its Star Castle and Missile Command machines requested for the set. It was also chosen as a filming location for the Netflix show Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan. Butt said: "We always look forward to half term at Arcade Club, and we've added a few extra hours so everyone can squeeze in even more gaming, not to mention it's Halloween week too, so expect a few spooky surprises around the venues."
