The month is so full that publishers appear to be rushing games out before the anticipated launch of GTA 6 in November.
Major Exclusives and Revivals
Among the standout titles is Crimson Moon (September 1), a gothic fantasy action role-player for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It casts players as a human/angel hybrid fighting demons and offers traditional co-op throughout. Priced at $19.99 in the US, it is expected to cost around £15-£19.99 in the UK.
Onimusha: Way Of The Sword (September 4) marks Capcom's revival of the series after 20 years. A soft reboot with graphics comparable to the Resident Evil remakes, it features approachable sword combat and a recently updated public demo.
Nintendo's big exclusive, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (September 17), promises an intriguing story and in-depth combat, with enough content to justify its price tag. Another notable exclusive is Orbitals (September 3), a co-op game for Switch 2 with an 80s anime-inspired art style, supporting GameShare for play without a second copy.
Sports and Survival Hits
Two annual sports games arrive this month. NBA 2K27 (September 4) ditches last-gen consoles and introduces smarter AI and new offensive mechanics.
