Greater Manchester is set for a vibrant weekend with a mix of festivals, parades, and family-friendly events.
Stockport Krazy Races
On Sunday, Stockport hosts the Krazy Races, where soapbox vehicles tackle a 350m course filled with chicanes, obstacles, and water splashes, with participants in wacky outfits. The event runs from 10.45am to 5pm, featuring a classic car showcase and an RAF flypast at 2.45pm.
Wigan Pride
Saturday brings Wigan Pride, with a parade starting on Crawford Street at 11am, heading to Believe Square at 12pm for live entertainment. The main Unity stage, by Market Place, features RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Banksie and Big Brovaz/Booty Luv, along with stalls and a quiet space.
Rochdale Feel Good Festival
Rochdale town centre welcomes music legends Gabrielle, Ash, and Starsailor on Saturday for the Feel Good festival, running from 11.30am to 10.45pm. Other acts include Alex Spencer and K-ESTATE.
Summer in the City Picnic
Circle Square’s Summer in the City Picnic takes place Saturday from 11am to 5pm, with double dutch skipping, DJs, Sip and Paint sessions, local acts, roaming musicians, and al fresco dining. A steel band, arts and crafts, and offerings from Gooey, Hello Oriental, Federal, and more are also featured.
Manchester Caribbean Carnival
The Manchester Caribbean Carnival returns to Alexandra Park in Whalley Range. Saturday starts with J’ouvert at 7am, featuring paint, powder, mud, and a joyous atmosphere. From 12pm, the big parade includes steelpan, calypso, and soca, with live music, entertainment, and food stalls throughout the weekend.
