Hundreds of families gathered at Broadway West in Gosforth for the 50th annual Bonfire display hosted by Newcastle Round Table. The event featured fairground rides, fire performers, food and fancy dress characters to entertain the crowds ahead of the main fireworks show.
Fireworks light up the sky
Families watched in awe as fireworks lit up the sky from around 7pm. The display marked the 50th anniversary of the event, which has become a fixture in the local calendar.
Money raised from the event will be donated to local charities, organisers said.
Capturing the atmosphere
ChronicleLive photographer Iain Buist was there to capture the atmosphere of the evening. A gallery of 25 photos shows families enjoying the event, including two-year-old Brodie Bolton from Kenton.
The event drew a large crowd, with attendees enjoying the various attractions before the main fireworks display began.
