Ten of Manchester's giant inflatable monsters are back on display at venues across the city centre for the Halloween in the City event, following disruption caused by storms last week.
The monsters were initially installed as part of the popular event, but most were taken down when storms hit, leading to the entire weekend event being scaled back. Only one Monsters Party Procession took place instead of the planned six, and other activities were called off.
Monsters return for October half term
Families are now heading out to see the creatures over the October half term, with the displays running until October 31. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the monsters.
On Thursday, October 29, confectionery maker Swizzels will bring its Spooky Sweet Stop to Market Street between 10am and 12pm, offering free sweets to visitors. Little monsters can pick up a free Halloween party bag containing Swizzels sweets, while stocks last, making a useful stop for families taking on the MCR Monster Trail.
