Kendal Calling 2026: Food Surprise Steals the Show

Kendal Calling 2026 delivered a huge surprise that few expected: the food. The festival, held in the sun-soaked fields of Cumbria, impressed attendees with an extraordinary range of culinary options, from traditional burgers to poke bowls and a sit-down restaurant.

A Festival of Unexpected Delights

The 40,000 festival-goers who descended on the Cumbrian fields were treated to perfect weather, a stark contrast to the region's usual rain. The line-up, featuring Biffy Clyro, The Libertines, Primal Scream, and Wolf Alice, was hailed as spectacular, but it was the food that truly stole the show.

From fish and chips to gyros, Yorkshire pudding wraps, pasta, BBQ, rotisserie chicken, meatballs, vegan offerings, and fried chicken, the variety was staggering. Even a sit-down restaurant, Ranch 76 Smokehouse, operated within the festival grounds, offering a breakfast that set attendees up for the day.

A Feast for the Senses

While prices were not cheap, they were far from extortionate, and every dish sampled was freshly cooked and delicious. The festival's unique blend of activities, from the magical Lost Eden woodlands to Tim Peaks Diner, was complemented by this culinary feast.

The only regret? Four days was not enough to try everything on offer. Kendal Calling will return next year, with tickets on sale at 10am on Tuesday.
