More than 4,000 drum & bass fans gathered in Hackney Wick on 1 August as Hospital Records marked its 30th birthday with a spectacular block party. The nine-hour celebration, dubbed the Hospital30 Block Party, took over six indoor and outdoor stages, turning the East London borough into a vibrant street party.
Unique Multi-Venue Format
Ravers moved seamlessly from open-air sunshine to sweat-soaked warehouses, with each venue offering its own distinct atmosphere. The festival vibe persisted throughout the day as attendees wandered between stages, never losing the energy.
Star-Studded Line-Up
The line-up featured drum & bass royalty including High Contrast, DJ Marky, and London Elektricity. P Money x Whiney delivered one of the biggest sets of the day, while Flava D, Fred V, Makoto, Nu, and Black Sun Empire kept the crowd entertained across the sprawling site.
Between sets, revellers could refuel at Hackney Bridge's street food court or relax in canal-side chill-out spots before diving back into the action. The event embodied the communal spirit that Hospitality events have been known for over the past three decades.
A Celebration of Drum & Bass
Hospital Records co-founder Chris Goss had promised "a proper all-day celebration of drum & bass," and the event delivered exactly that. With tickets capped at £40, the Hospital30 Block Party demonstrated that experiencing the best of London's music scene doesn't have to break the bank.
