Halloweenville at Partridge Lakes in Culcheth, Warrington, has reopened for 2026, offering families a storybook trail with live characters, interactive performances and immersive storytelling. The event, now in its fourth year, promises to be "the biggest and most ambitious Halloweenville ever created".
An enchanted lakeside adventure
Visitors join a quest to defeat the Ancient Skeleton King, who threatens to ruin Halloween, and restore peace to the magical town of Halloweenville. Along the way, families meet mischievous Skeleton Pirates and brave Skeleton Knights who teach children the art of sword fighting. Guests can brew magic potions inside the witches' hollow and step into Halloweenville Town Library to learn spells and discover ancient magic.
The trail takes around 50 minutes to complete, with new scenes around every corner. Atmospheric lighting, scenery and sounds, combined with charismatic but not too creepy characters, aim to offer more fun than frights, making it ideal for those seeking a less scary Halloween experience.
Finale and extra activities
The trail ends with a colourful, bubble-filled finale around a giant cauldron, where each child receives a medal for completing their mission. After the trail, families can enjoy games including Skull Knockdown and Witch Hat Hoopla, and buy snacks such as marshmallows to toast on the firepit, costing £4.50 for three large ones.
Near the entrance, a larger food and drink area features a giant tipi tent with wooden benches, open to visitors whether or not they are booked on the trail. Offerings include stone baked pizzas, halloumi fries, loaded nachos, sweet crepes and other seasonal treats, with drinks such as Pumpkin Spice Latte, Maple Magic Latte, Bubbling Cauldron and Witches Potion, plus smaller versions for children.
Dates and tickets
Halloweenville runs until Sunday, November 1, with earlier dusk slots on October 10, 11, 17, 18 and 24. A relaxed SEND night takes place on October 19. Tickets cost from £20 for children aged two to 16, from £25 for adults, £3 for under twos and £15 for carers. Opening times vary, with music, food and drink areas opening an hour before first access.
Event manager and Halloweenville organiser Barbara Ikin said: "As a parent myself, I know how special it is to find days out where children can completely lose themselves in their imagination, while parents get to enjoy making those memories together. That’s always been at the heart of Halloweenville."
She added: "We want to create a Halloween that’s full of magic, adventure and excitement without being too frightening for younger children. Every year we try to make the experience a little bigger and a little more magical, and we’re really excited for families to discover this year’s adventure with the Ancient Skeleton King."
