Halloween in Jesmond: Students Hit Osborne Road in Fancy Dress

Students packed Osborne Road in Jesmond on Friday night, dressed in Halloween costumes ranging from nuns to Harry Potter characters, as part of the city's traditional Halloween weekend celebrations.

Costumes and Crowds on Osborne Road

The street was full of revellers in outfits that, as is often the case, were not particularly scary, with some described as "generally pretty rubbish." Despite that, those taking part appeared to be enjoying themselves.

Newcastle city centre is expected to be busy over the Halloween weekend, with party-goers and students heading out in their best fancy dress for a night out in the Toon.

A Firm Tradition of Dressing Up

The event continues a firm local tradition of people donning outfits for the occasion. Photographs from the night captured the varied and creative costumes on display.

The gathering on Osborne Road marked the start of the Halloween weekend festivities in the city.
