Nevada sheriffs are seeking the public's help to identify a man killed in an apparent homicide at the Burning Man festival. The Pershing County Sheriff's Office launched a murder investigation on Sunday after the victim was discovered on Saturday night.
Sheriff Jerry Allen described the deceased as a white male, aged 35 to 40, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 200 lbs, with short brown hair and facial hair. The man was found lying in a pool of blood in the Black Rock City encampment.
Authorities are appealing for information from anyone who heard or saw anything between 8pm and 9.30pm on Saturday. Sheriff Allen stated, 'At this time, no information is too small to disregard.'
The festival's organisers, the Burning Man Project, said they are cooperating with law enforcement and urged attendees not to interfere with the investigation. The area around the crime scene was cordoned off as police interviewed several participants.
Sheriff Allen warned participants to remain vigilant, describing the incident as 'a singular crime'. He added that further information would be released as appropriate to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
