Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire has unveiled new family attractions that align perfectly with the Princess of Wales's parenting philosophy, emphasizing outdoor play and connection with nature over expensive toys and screens.
Adventure Play: A £3.6 Million Wonderland
Hidden within the historic Walled Garden, Adventure Play is an immersive playground covering an area larger than a football pitch. It features tunnels, rope bridges, cargo nets, giant slides, and interactive water play, all inspired by elements of the Palace itself, including the Boat House and Kensington Gate.
Heather Carter, Managing Director - Visitor Attraction, said: “Adventure Play is the biggest family-themed attraction in the history of Blenheim Palace. Hidden within the Walled Garden, the outdoor immersive area for mini explorers is where young imaginations can run wild.”
She added: “Little adventurers from toddlers to pre-teens love the limitless hours of freedom and fun as they run, jump, climb, clamber, slide and splash, exploring the network of tunnels, ziplines, bridges, cargo nets and chambers.”
Marlborough Mini Farm: Rare Breeds Conservation
Just beyond the Walled Garden, Marlborough Mini Farm introduces families to some of Britain's rarest native livestock breeds, including Berkshire pigs, Buff Orpington chickens, Cotswold sheep, and English goats, all recognized by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust as requiring conservation.
James Hunter, Rural Estates Manager at Blenheim Palace, said: “Preserving Britain’s rare native breeds is about far more than keeping animals on a farm - it’s about safeguarding our living agricultural heritage and ensuring these remarkable breeds have a future.”
He added: “Many fell out of favour as post-war farming prioritised faster-growing, higher-yielding commercial breeds, meaning they now survive thanks to the dedication of breeders, rare breed societies and estates like Blenheim Palace. Today, these animals continue to have an important role in conservation grazing and sustainable estate management, while helping us reconnect people with the history of the countryside around them.”

The estate also offers the historic palace, State Rooms, Capability Brown parkland, and Churchill's Walking Trail.
