Penelope Chilvers, the brand behind one of Princess Catherine's most famous pairs of boots, has unveiled a new navy and dark brown version of its Inclement Long Tassel Boot, priced at £499. The knee-high style combines rich navy suede with deep brown leather trims, including the instantly recognisable tassel hanging from the side.
Built for British Weather
The sustainably sourced oiled suede has been treated with Scotchgard, and the boots are waterproof for up to 20 hours. A breathable lining and protective inner gusset are designed to keep feet warm and dry, while a chunky Goodyear-welted rubber tread sole makes them suitable for muddy country walks or pairing with jeans and a blazer.
The new colourway is available in standard and generous calf widths, with the brand recommending shoppers take their usual size. The range runs from a UK 3 upwards.
A Royal Favourite for Over Two Decades
Catherine has been wearing the brand's Long Tassel Boots for more than 20 years. Her much-loved conker brown style has become a royal wardrobe legend, with the Princess repeatedly returning to the same equestrian-inspired silhouette. The original Long Tassel Boot remains available for £485 and is handmade in Spain from sustainably sourced Spanish leather, with a close-fitting ankle, scalloped detailing and the signature leather tassel attached to the zip.
Shoppers have praised the boots for their quality and longevity, with one customer declaring them "the best boots ever".
Investment in Style
While £499 makes the new boots a significant purchase, Catherine's history with the brand makes a compelling case for cost-per-wear. The boots are designed to still be earning their keep years from now, whether bought as a Christmas present or a well-earned autumn treat.
