Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has received a confidence boost off the pitch after flying a fashion stylist to the UK to overhaul his wardrobe. Stylist Sydney Luchies, based in the Netherlands, has documented her work with Zirkzee on TikTok, helping him achieve a look he describes as a rapper from the 90s.
Stylist's process and Zirkzee's request
Luchies detailed her initial consultation and the reasons for picking out pieces for Zirkzee, who wanted to look like a rapper from the 90s. In an earlier video, she explained her process: “I start by making a mood board. Once the mood board is approved, I start making the outfits and once the outfits are approved, I start to order everything and then it’s time for delivery.”
“Joshua lives in Manchester, so this time we flew to England. Once I arrived, I started preparing all the outfits for the fitting and Joshua wanted to look like a rapper from the 90s – with his own touch. So, I think we did well,” Luchies said.
Closet clean and career background
In a follow-up TikTok post shared last month, Luchies filmed herself clearing out Zirkzee’s sprawling wardrobe. She organised unwanted or unworn clothes into colour-coordinated piles, planning to sell high-end items and donate the rest to charity. “Come with me to do a closet clean for Joshua Zirkzee. Joshua asked if I could help him reorganise his closet, create a bit more space for new things, and make it all neat and organised,” she said.
Luchies has previously worked with Burnley defender Quilindschy Hartman, who is on loan at Espanyol, and has worked on photo shoots for PSV Eindhoven and collaborated with brands such as Adidas, Puma and New Balance. Describing herself as an “all-round wardrobe stylist and creative”, she writes on her website: “My love and passion for fashion and creating already started when I was a little girl and has never stopped developing, now I see creating outfits and concepts as a form of art and self-expression.”
On-pitch struggles and future
Zirkzee has struggled to hold down a regular place in the United side since joining from Bologna in 2024. The 25-year-old scored twice in 24 appearances last term and has been linked with a return to Italy this summer. He has featured in pre-season for United, who take on Leeds in Dublin on Wednesday, and is one of the few centre-forwards in Michael Carrick’s side.
After overhauling his wardrobe, Zirkzee will also hope to change his fortunes on the pitch. United signed him for £36.5 million, but he has yet to find his best form at Old Trafford.
