Emily Atack has been hailed as 'breaking the internet' after starring in a new spring/summer campaign for luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur. The campaign, titled The Duchess, draws on the refined elegance of British aristocratic glamour, reimagined through the scandalous, indulgent rhythms of late-1980s countryside living.
The creative direction was heavily inspired by Jilly Cooper's novel Rivals, in which Atack also stars in the television adaptation. Fans flooded Instagram with praise, with one commenting: 'I absolutely LOVE this. Go go Emily', while another wrote: 'Here's a way to break the internet! In fact Miss Atack… you win the internet today! Flawless!'
Creative director Sarah Shotton explained the campaign's origins: 'I was up North when Rivals came out, with its brilliant cast & costumes, and I just fell in love with all things British, once again. SS26 is very late-1980s, it’s over the top and really fun, with lots of fabulous prints and fabrics. It’s one of my favourite collections in a long time. We needed someone bold, British and utterly gorgeous to bring it to life; it could only ever have been Emily for the campaign.'
The collection features a mix of playful and risqué pieces, including matching sets in satin, lace and PVC, as well as accessories such as elbow-length gloves, robes and garters. There are also full-coverage long sleeve bodysuits, pleated skirts and mini dresses that can be worn as outerwear.
The campaign's grand country house setting, complete with aristocratic paintings and gold gilding, also evokes a touch of Bridgerton, making its release timely with the arrival of the new series and Valentine's Day. The Emily Atack x Agent Provocateur The Duchess collection is available to shop now, alongside Valentine's ranges from other brands such as Bluebella and Intimissimi.
