Manchester Village Pride 2026 has drawn to a close with a weekend of standout fashion moments, as attendees transformed Canal Street into a catwalk with bold and creative outfits. From Wizard of Oz-inspired looks to shimmering party dresses and rainbow accessories, the celebrations have showcased the community's flair for statement dressing.
Parade Highlights and Performances
The weekend's programme included Friday sets from Danny Beard, Freemasons & Katherine Ellis, and B*Witched, while Saturday brought performances from Cleopatra, MEEK, and Gareth Gates, alongside speeches from Esther Ghey and Russell T Davies. Saturday's parade featured more than 12,000 people across 177 walking groups and floats, with organisations including George House Trust and LGBT Foundation taking part. Coronation Street stars were also spotted among the crowds.
Fashion Inspired by 'No Place Like Home'
The parade theme, 'No Place Like Home', drew on The Wizard of Oz to celebrate a homecoming and Manchester's reputation as a welcoming, safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. Attendees embraced the theme with costumes depicting Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Wicked Witch of the West, alongside Glinda the Good. Throughout the weekend, outfits ranged from cowboy hats and short shorts to Pride flags and sequined umbrellas, with many braving the rain in dazzling raincoats and accessorised shoes.
