Liam Payne's Ex Maya Henry Plans HBO Documentary on Their Relationship
Maya Henry's Liam Payne Documentary Sparks Family Concern

Maya Henry, the former fiancée of late One Direction star Liam Payne, is reportedly developing a documentary about their relationship and subsequent breakup, just one year after his tragic death.

The project, which is said to be in collaboration with HBO and an independent production company, has raised concerns about potentially distressing Payne's grieving family, particularly following Henry's previous revelations about the singer's personal struggles.

Documentary Details and Family Concerns

According to reports from The Sun, the 24-year-old model is moving forward with the documentary project that will explore her relationship with Payne between 2018 and 2022. The film is expected to cover their entire relationship timeline and will reportedly address the trolling Henry received from One Direction fans when they began dating.

A source close to the situation expressed significant concern, stating: 'This documentary is going to be hugely upsetting for Liam's family, who are struggling with unimaginable loss.' The insider further noted apprehension within the industry about the project being one-sided, given that Payne cannot provide his perspective on events.

Troubled Relationship and Past Revelations

The documentary news follows Henry's explosive interview with Rolling Stone magazine in February, where she made several startling claims about Payne's behaviour during their relationship. She revealed that drug use and addictions initially tore them apart, describing how the singer became 'unrecognisable' while using substances.

Henry stated: 'While I loved him deeply, he did things that hurt me in ways I'll never fully understand, and he continued to hurt me years after we broke up.' According to sources quoted in the article, Payne's drug use escalated throughout their relationship, eventually including substances such as cocaine, ketamine, MDMA, pharmaceutical pills, and heroin.

The model also claimed that Payne engaged in inappropriate behaviour including sexting fans and hiring sex workers, creating what she described as 'unsafe and harmful situations' during their time together.

Aftermath and Legal Actions

Following Payne's death in October 2022, Henry became the target of online trolls who unfairly blamed her for the singer's tragic passing. Supporters rushed to her defence, with many commenting on her social media that victims are allowed to tell their stories and that she couldn't have foreseen his death.

In a particularly troubling revelation, it emerged that just days before Payne's death, Henry had instructed lawyers to issue a cease and desist letter to the pop star after accusing him of repeatedly contacting her and her family members, including her mother.

Payne died at age 31 in October 2022 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. His funeral was held on November 20 at Saint Mary's Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Representatives for both Henry and Payne's estate have been contacted for comment regarding the documentary project.
