England captain Harry Kane marked his World Cup victory against DR Congo with a kiss for his wife, Kate Goodland, as the 32-year-old striker continues to cement his legacy as one of England's greatest players. Kane scored two goals to save England from defeat in the match on Wednesday.
Childhood Sweethearts
Kane and Goodland first met as pupils at Larkswood Primary in east London and later attended Chingford Foundation School, the same school attended by David Beckham. An old school photo shows the pair meeting Beckham as teenagers.
In 2017, Kane told the Evening Standard how fortunate he felt to have found his childhood sweetheart: 'If I was single now and meeting people, you’d never know if they were with you for the right reasons. Is it the money? You’d never really know. So I’m lucky that I’ve got a childhood sweetheart.'
Marriage and Children
The couple married in June 2019 at an undisclosed location. Goodland shared photos from the day with the caption: 'I married my soul mate, one of the best days of my life! Thank you for making my dreams come true, you are perfect.'
They have four children: daughters Ivy (born 2017) and Vivienne (born 2018), and sons Louis (born 2020) and Henry (born 2023). Kane announced Henry's birth on Instagram: 'Welcome to the world Henry Edward Kane. 20/8/2023. Love you baby boy!' Fellow footballers Harry Maguire and Jack Grealish were among those congratulating the couple. The family also has two Labradors, Brady and Wilson.
Life in Germany
Following Kane's transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich, the family relocated to Germany. They now live in a £30 million hilltop mansion in an area known as the 'Beverly Hills of Bavaria'. Previously, they resided in a £17 million North London home with a gym and man cave.
Kane told the Guardian that the family is settling in: 'They’re in school now and have been skiing the last couple of weekends. Just having that has been great for them. We’ve met a few of the parents at school and made friends with team-mates’ wives and kids. Slowly but surely it starts to feel like home. People ask what are the big differences, but a lot of the routine is pretty much the same.'
Kate Goodland's Career
Goodland, 33, studied sports science and worked as a personal trainer. She shares fitness tips with her nearly 250,000 Instagram followers. Kane has expressed pride in her independence, saying: 'She always wanted to do her own thing. She went to university and worked hard.'
She has also collaborated with jewellery brand Loquet London on a collection benefiting the Harry Kane Foundation.
