Traitors fans call Miranda Hart 'Miss Marple' after Hannah theory

Celebrity Traitors fans have branded a faithful 'Miss Marple' as they claimed that she could win the entire series. The praise came after comedian Miranda Hart correctly suspected mathematician Hannah Fry of being a traitor on the BBC show.

Richard E. Grant and Myha'la eliminated

It was one of the busiest episodes of the BBC series' history, with two stars eliminated and one recruitment occurring in the Scottish Highlands. Loki star Richard E. Grant was voted off in the first roundtable of the series, becoming the first traitor to ever do this.

Richard, who told everyone his true identity in the first episode of the new series, said after being banished: "Thank you for having me and giving almost a full house of votes. I have always wanted to be a traitor as you know.

"Sometimes in life your dreams do come true and sometimes they don't. I am an unfaithful traitor."

He added in a talking head: "I have been annihilated. I have managed to checkmate myself, which as far as I'm aware has never been done. My daughter is going to be like 'oh dad'. Oh, but I've just had a blast."

Recruitment and challenge drama

Shortly after this, Richard's fellow traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster decided to recruit mathematician Hannah Fry to join them in the turret. Hannah accepted the call as she was seen as one of the most loyal faithfuls in the castle.

The next morning saw the remaining contestants take part in a challenge. They were tasked with having to raid four crypts in 30 minutes, with each one containing gold and/or shields.

Paired into teams of two, Industry actress Myha'la got into a squabble with Hannah over whether they should have kept her keeping a shield a secret. Myha'la later gave up her shield in exchange for gold and claimed she didn't care too much about giving hers up.

Myha'la's banishment

The second roundtable of the episode saw Myha'la under even more pressure, with her claiming she voted for Richard to protect herself, saying: "I didn't want to be the person who didn't vote for him if he was a Traitor."

Sadly, Myha'la became the first faithful to be banished via vote. Moments before going, she claimed that she wasn't sure if she should have given Hannah a shield over doubts about if she was a traitor or not.

"I don't think the Traitors are as dumb or silly and confused as you think they are. I think they're a lot smarter," she said before confirming she was a faithful.

Fans praise Miranda Hart

Moments before the episode ended, comedian Miranda Hart dismissed James Blunt's claims that Coronation Street legend Julie Hesmondhalgh, The Last of Us' Bella Ramsey and EastEnders actor Ross Kemp were the faithfuls.

Sharing her correct suspicions about Hannah, Miranda said: "The key actual tangible evidence is that Hannah did not declare what Myha'la had said in the crypt."

Those watching the tense episode at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to commend Miranda for following her gut and sticking by a theory that her fellow players need to start buying.
