Strictly Come Dancing fans have claimed that the professional dancers are "frightened" of one dance style, as the first live show of the new series airs tonight (September 26).
Following last week's launch show, which saw all 15 celebrities paired with their professional dancers in a round robin dance, fans are eager to see who will shine on the ballroom floor. With all the ballroom and Latin dances and songs now announced, eagle-eyed fans have noticed one thing.
Fans spot a pattern in the week one dances
Taking to social media, Strictly bosses shared the list of the first week dances in the format of each couple adding their signatures to a sign-up sheet. With hits from Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Whitney Houston, and Zara Larsson, the first live show is set to go off with a bang.
However, Reddit users have deduced that there is one dance that the Strictly professional dancers are "frightened" of. Recognised for its festival atmosphere and questionable costumes, three couples are set to take on the Samba as their first dance.
Known as one of the dances infamous for knocking even the best couples out of the competition, viewers theorise that the professional dancers will try to secure the Samba in the first week when there is no voting. This strategy may give their partners more of a chance of sticking it out in the competition.
Fans react to the Samba-heavy line-up
One person on Reddit said: "Looks like everyone is terrified of the samba! Getting it out of the way first thing." While another added: "Gosh that's a lot of Sambas for week one."
A third person also commented: "Interesting that several of the celebs I think will be contenders are getting the samba out of the way first week. Clearly a dance their pros' don’t want to be left with later on and gets one of the most technical dances done the first week when scoring tends to be more generous as the judges are less strict and there is no dumping week one."

Call to return to the traditional dance reveal
While some fans are already theorising who will make it to the Strictly final, others have been airing complaints on social media. Following the announcement of the first week dances, fans have called for a much-loved feature to be returned to normal.
Over the years, Strictly has traditionally announced the couple songs and dances on the Tuesday ahead of the live shows. This featured a little clip of each couple dancing to the chosen style of dance for the week with their music in the background.
A favourite for many fans as they wait for the show to air, many haven't been pleased with the sign-up sheet format released this week. Under the Instagram clip, one fan wrote: "From next week could we please go back to the normal way."
With another viewer adding: "I hope next week it is back to the nice little video with what dance and song on a Tuesday!! Please!!!" A third person also grumbled: "Can we at least keep the normal song reveal format. We have enough change already."
The first live show of series 24 of Strictly Come Dancing will air at 6:15pm tonight (September 26) on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
