An Emmerdale favourite has confirmed the end of an 'extreme' storyline on the hit ITV soap, but warned that more 'conflict' is on the way for the village.
Recently on the ITV soap, the feud between Caleb Miligan and Joe Tate reached new heights. Over the months, viewers have seen Joe steal his uncle Caleb's kidney in a shocking storyline last year. Caleb initially demanded payback, but after seemingly settling things with Kim Tate, a feud between the two started again when Caleb planned to ruin Joe's life by sabotaging his wedding.
However, his plan took an unexpected and deadly turn when Jimmy King crashed his car into the wedding marquee, which resulted in pregnant Dawn Taylor being rushed to hospital in early labour, where she died after giving birth to her baby boy with Joe.
Deadly Turn and Revenge
Joe, who wants nothing to do with his newborn son, is hellbent on revenge and only recently he buried Caleb's wife Ruby Miligan alive in a disturbing twist. He then used the opportunity to taunt Caleb, warning Ruby was slowly dying while being buried alive.
Thankfully, Graham Foster was able to save Ruby in time and since then, Caleb has vowed to end their feud in order to protect his family.
Actor's Warning
Talking to Metro, Caleb actor William Ash confirmed the end of the 'extreme' storyline but did warn there is more 'conflict' on the way.
Will, 49, said: "I think it’s kind of gone as far as it can go now, hasn’t it? You never know what the writers have in store, but it was pretty drastic, I think, that end bit."
"Burying her alive and then not taking her to hospital afterwards – it’s a bit extreme."
The actor added: "We’ve got some conflict coming up, I think. It gets a bit dull when everyone’s getting on and everybody’s having a nice time with each other. Hopefully real life is like that, but with Emmerdale you’ve got to have the conflict there, and that’s the best stuff to play."
Emmerdale continues on weeknights at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
