Strictly Come Dancing fever has officially begun for 2026, with the first of many cast reveals already announced. This year's contestants will aim to replicate the success of Lioness Karen Carney and professional partner Carlos Gu, last year's winners. The newcomers join at a pivotal time, with major changes to the BBC show, including the departure of hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, replaced by Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe. The pro dancer line-up has also seen changes, with fan favourites Nadiya Bychkova, Luba Mushtuk, Karen Hauer, Michelle Tsiakkas, and Gorka Márquez departing, while Neil Jones and Nancy Xu are benched.

Confirmed Contestants for 2026

Delta Goodrem – The Australian singer-songwriter, 41, signed her first record deal at 15 and has since released seven albums, sold millions, and represented Australia at Eurovision 2026. She expressed excitement about joining Strictly, stating, 'I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can't wait to get started!'

Lacey Turner – The 38-year-old EastEnders star, known for playing Stacey Slater, is taking a break from Albert Square to join the dance floor. She said, 'I am so excited to be making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing.'

Dani Dyer – After a brief stint last year due to an ankle fracture, the 29-year-old reality TV star returns. She stated, 'I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September! Hopefully this time I can make it to week one!'

Rumoured Contestants

Dame Sarah Storey – The 37-year-old Paralympic athlete, Britain's most successful Paralympian with 30 medals, is rumoured to have signed up. A source said she is 'delighted to be taking part' and 'keen to embrace the glamour.'

Jeff Brazier – The 47-year-old father of Bobby Brazier (2023 runner-up) is in talks to join. A source noted, 'He has discussed it with Bobby who thinks it would be amazing if his dad was to give it a go.'

Josie Gibson – The 41-year-old This Morning presenter and former Big Brother winner is reportedly on the BBC's radar. A source claimed, 'Bosses are convinced her down-to-earth charm will be the boost this year's new-look show needs.'

Jake Quickenden – The 37-year-old X Factor alum and Dancing on Ice winner is rumoured to have caught the eye of Strictly bookers. He said he would 'love to do it' if the opportunity arises.
