Apple TV's hit science fiction mystery drama Silo has finally returned for its third season today (Friday, July 3) after a hiatus of more than a year. Set in a dark dystopian future, the hit series based on the novels by Hugh Howey follows the inhabitants of a vast underground bunker with a population of 10,000 people sheltering from the toxic outside world.
Rebecca Ferguson Leads the Cast
Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson leads the thriller as Juliette Nichols, an engineer who begins to uncover a vast conspiracy in the heart of the Silo following a string of mysterious deaths. Swedish Hollywood star Ferguson's latest roles include the Netflix films A House of Dynamite and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, and she is also famed for portraying Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible franchise and Lady Jessica in the Dune films.
Returning Cast Members
Common portrays Robert Sims, head of security for the Silo's law enforcement, known as Judicial. As well as his Grammy-winning music career, Common has appeared in popular films John Wick: Chapter 2 and The Hate U Give as well as the Netflix romance drama Never Have I Ever.
Tim Robbins brings to life Bernard Holland, the Silo's strict head of IT. Robbins has appeared in several major Hollywood films, with acclaimed roles as Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption, Griffin Mill in The Player, and his Oscar-winning turn as Dave Boyle in Mystic River.
Harriet Walter portrays Martha Walker, the agoraphobic electrical engineer and a surrogate mother of sorts for Juliette. Walter has appeared in major dramas such as Downton Abbey, Succession, Killing Eve, and The Crown.
Avi Nash plays systems analyst Lukas Kyle, known for his recurring role as Siddiq in The Walking Dead, and has also appeared in the Black Mirror episode Joan is Awful and ITV's spy thriller Secret Service.
Rick Gomez brings to life maintenance worker and smuggler Patrick Kennedy. Gomez is both a voice actor and live-action performer, having lent his voice to the Final Fantasy franchise and the video game Batman: Arkham Shadow, and appeared in the 2007 Transformers film, Band of Brothers, and Justified.
Chinaza Uche portrays Paul Billings, a former Judicial administrator and the Silo's new chief deputy. Uche has appeared in Dickinson, won a Scottish BAFTA for A Good Person, and starred in AMC's The Terror: Devil in Silver.
Shane McRae plays Knox, head of the Mechanical level in the Silo and Juliette's superior, known for roles in Sneaky Pete, Paradise Lost, and Alaska Daily.
Remmie Milner plays Shirley, one of Juliette's closest friends, with roles in His Dark Materials, Save Me, and A Christmas Carol.
Alexandria Riley portrays Camille Sims, a former raider and Robert's wife, recognizable from Baby Reindeer and Death Valley.
Clare Perkins plays Carla McLain, Walker's ex-wife and head of the supply department, known for EastEnders, The Outlaws, and The Wheel of Time.
Billy Postlethwaite plays lower level deputy Hank, son of actor Pete Postlethwaite, with appearances in Chernobyl, The Great, and The Winter King.
Steve Zahn Joins Main Cast
The White Lotus star Steve Zahn was previously uncredited for his role as Jimmy aka Solo, the only living survivor of the Silo's infamous rebellion. He'll now be returning as part of the main cast in Season 3. Zahn has also appeared in Dallas Buyers Club, Captain Fantastic, War for the Planet of the Apes, The Righteous Gemstones, and Disney+'s Chad Powers.
New Cast Members for Season 3
Joining the main cast for Season 3 are Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick, who both appeared in cameo roles in the Season 2 finale. Helen is a journalist and Daniel is a Congressman, working together to unpick some of the conspiracy that happened before the Silo. Zuckerman is known for Designated Survivor, Succession, and the Fear Street trilogy. Henwick has appeared in Glass Onion, The Matrix Resurrections, Cuckoo, and Netflix's Vladimir.
Further additions include: Reed Birney (The Menu) as Henry, Laura Innes (How to Get Away with Murder) as Senator Thurman, Jessica Brown Findlay (The Flatshare) as Charlotte "Charles" Keene, Morven Christie (Grantchester) as Anna, Matt Craven (Sharp Objects) as Victor, Ned Dennehy (Outlander) as Ed Harwood, and Chris Fulton (Outlander) as Mike.
