Mama Leaving Netflix: Dark Horror Film That Stuck With Viewers

Netflix subscribers have just days left to stream the 2013 horror film Mama, which past viewers say 'everyone should watch at least once.' The film will leave the streaming platform on July 25.

What Is Mama About?

The story follows two young girls, Victoria and Lily, who are discovered abandoned in a crumbling woodland dwelling years after their parents' deaths. Specialists are perplexed as to how they survived with no apparent food or resources. The siblings are transferred to a secure facility where childhood behavioural experts monitor them, believing they have been isolated for five years.

To help reintegrate them into society, the girls are placed with their uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his partner Annabel (Jessica Chastain), who aim to provide a secure and nurturing home. They quickly discover there is far more to the case than meets the eye.
