Cast and Production
Season one featured a mostly different cast, with Sian Reese-Williams as the only returning actor as Caryl. The first series focused on grieving mother Sharon Roberts (Joanna Scanlan). Mark Lewis Jones revealed that his friendship with Scanlan convinced him to join the new series.
"Joanna Scanlan is a friend," he told Radio Times. "There are lots of people I knew in it, but in particular Joanna Scanlan's a mate, and so I was supporting her in watching it, and I thought it was great. It was absolutely wonderful."
Jones added that he didn't know a second series was planned until it came along, and he was thrilled to be part of the Golau family. The Light in the Hall is available to watch on Channel 4.
