Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky's 12-year-old twin boys, Sasha and Tristan, have made their screen debut. The Hollywood newcomers appear in Elsa's new TV series, The Tribute, a Spanish-language production now streaming on Sky Showtime.
First Acting Role
The twins play the sons of Elsa's character in the eight-part series about a powerful dynasty with dark secrets. An insider told Woman's Day: 'They're mini clones of their dad, and they have every intention of growing up to be a world-famous hero like him.' The source added: 'They go to the gym with him, surf with him – they even eat the same as their dad. Elsa thinks it's hilarious to see two miniature versions of Chris, and she's very proud of them. She's been showing them the basics of acting.'
Elsa, 49, shared that the casting was a last-minute decision. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, she explained: 'They had never done anything with lines before, but it was a very easy sequence because they were playing my sons. They loved it because they're always on set.'
Behind the Scenes
As an executive producer, Elsa ensured the scene was shot in Australia. She said: 'The director said we had to shut down the production in Spain, and we were not going to pay for everybody to go to Australia. I said, “No problem, we'll do it. I'll get my husband, I'll get my kids, and get my brother behind the camera.” We shot it very simply, with one camera. Of course, Chris was there, and it was close to my house. It's a little surprise. And it's so unexpected.'
Family Life
Chris and Elsa, who married in 2010, are also parents to daughter India Rose, 14. Earlier this year, Chris revealed why the family moved from Hollywood to Australia in 2015, purchasing a farm in Byron Bay. On the SmartLess podcast, he said: 'It was right around the time my boys were born, and we kind of were set up in LA and not enjoying it. Nothing was shooting there. We were filming kind of everywhere else. And then… you'd come home and paparazzi and all the trappings of living in that space.' Chris, born in 1983, grew up in Melbourne with his brothers, fellow actors Liam and Luke Hemsworth.
