Netflix has released the first images from the upcoming third instalment of the Enola Holmes film series, sparking fan speculation about a major plot twist. The photos show Millie Bobby Brown's character in a wedding dress and veil, leading many to believe a wedding—either real or fake—is central to the story.
The film, set for release on July 1, follows Enola as she travels to Malta for a case that intertwines personal and professional ambitions. The synopsis describes it as "more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before." Brown returns alongside Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Himesh Patel as Dr Watson, Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, and Louis Partridge as Lord Tewkesbury.
Both previous films earned high praise, with the 2020 debut scoring 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and the 2022 sequel achieving 93%. The new entry is based on Nancy Springer's young adult mystery novels, reimagining Sherlock Holmes' world through his younger sister.
Brown commented on her character's evolution, saying: "She's built something for herself... but she's also questioning what she wants next. It's about balancing independence with love, ambition with vulnerability." The script is written by Jack Thorne, creator of the acclaimed series Adolescence.
