Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been moved from his prison in New Jersey to a low-security correctional facility in Pennsylvania. The 56-year-old rapper, previously an inmate at FCI Fort Dix, was placed at FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, October 16.
Transfer amid safety concerns
Combs was sentenced to four years in prison last year after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
His spokesperson told the BBC: "His transfer from one low-security facility to another is an important distinction," adding that the move "is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind".
FCI Allenwood Low is a federal prison for male offenders around 155 miles west of New York City. It houses over 1,000 inmates, significantly fewer than Fort Dix, which houses over 4,200.
Recent hospital visit
The transfer follows reports that Combs was rushed to hospital at around 1am local time last Saturday, October 10, after suffering a head injury. He was reportedly taken back to prison the same day.
TMZ reported that the injury was not life-threatening and that Combs was conscious and speaking before being returned to prison.
Previous altercation
Earlier this year, reports emerged of a fight between Combs and another inmate at Fort Dix, where he was moved in October 2025. According to TMZ, Combs started the altercation after the other inmate insulted him, with the pair shoving and punching each other before prison staff intervened.
FCI Fort Dix told the Daily Mail: "For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions."
Combs is expected to be released in March 2028. He has previously appealed against his 50-month prison sentence, asking for immediate release.
