Dee Devlin has publicly shown her support for husband Conor McGregor in the wake of his UFC 329 defeat by Max Holloway. McGregor's first bout in five years turned into a nightmare on Saturday when he sustained damage to his right knee from the opening kick he delivered.
McGregor Pledges to Fight On
The Dubliner has pledged to fight on and intends to see out the final fight of his UFC contract, while admitting he will be forced to go under the knife. "Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God!" he wrote in a social media message. "My faith is unconditional and I am thankful I get to prove it! My lifestyle changes are permanent and not just until. I am thankful I get to prove it."
Devlin's Emotional Response
McGregor's wife, who was cageside in Las Vegas along with the couple's children, replied to the post with a praying emoji, alongside several love heart ones. The fight, which concluded after 69 seconds, saw Holloway defeat McGregor by TKO after the Irishman's knee gave way.
Holloway Offers Trilogy Fight
Holloway, meanwhile, declared straight after Saturday's bout that he would gladly wait for McGregor to recuperate to meet him in a trilogy fight, with the tally now 1-1 between the duo following the Notorious' 2013 victory over Holloway in Boston. "I'd love to see this Conor 170lb domain that he was talking about," said Holloway. "This different world he was talking about. I want to see what his injury is first, but I then want to come back again in 2027. I will take some time to have a break to see my family, and then you guys will see Blessed return in 2027."
