Coronation Street fans were quickly left distracted by what appeared to be David and Shona Platt's reaction to Jodie Ramsey wielding a gun at them as her plan to steal her sister's life spirals.
Jodie's plan to take over Shona's life
Those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, have been watching Jodie upping her efforts to take over her older sibling's life after the long-lost sisters were reunited back in January, following the horror crash between Weatherfield and Emmerdale.
It was previously confirmed that in upcoming scenes, Jodie will make her next attempt to wipe her sister from the picture. Convinced she's owed her own shot at happiness, she shamelessly declares to Shona's husband, David, that he "deserves someone that will treat you right."
The dramatic showdown
The scenes are airing in Thursday's (October 8) edition of Corrie, which is already available to stream on ITVX and YouTube ahead of airing at 8.30pm on ITV, but pictures revealed ahead of the episode show the dramatic moment when Jodie proves she will stop at nothing to steal her sister's life.
Viewers will see that after months of mind games and manipulation, a desperate Jodie points a gun at Shona when Shona confronts her about her obsession with her husband and family.
After dragging the likes of Bethany and Lily Platt, and her dad Doug, into her dangerous games, Jodie makes her move and goes all out to try to seduce David. It seems she has finally turned his head when shocked Shona arrives.

As the confrontation unfolds, Jodie ends up pointing a gun, Shona and David are convinced it is a replica and the pair challenge her. But the situation spirals into chaos, and a gunshot rings out. As the dust settles, one person lies stricken, and the family is left reeling in horror. But who has been shot?
The Manchester Evening News won't reveal the casualty ahead of the episode airing this evening on ITV; however, Corrie fans were already left distracted by the previously released images of the showdown, thanks to David and Shona's seemingly unbothered reaction to Jodie pointing a gun at them.
