Anne Hathaway Teases Devil Wears Prada 2 First Look

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway have reunited in the first teaser trailer for the much-anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. The Oscar-winning actors are reprising their roles for the follow-up, set for release in May 2026.

Streep, who earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of tyrannical magazine editor Miranda Priestly, returns alongside Hathaway. The cast also includes Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and new addition Kenneth Branagh as Priestly's husband. Simone Ashley, Rachel Bloom, and Lucy Liu join, with reported cameos from Lady Gaga and Sydney Sweeney.

The sequel, directed by David Frankel, sees Priestly navigating the collapse of the magazine industry and forging an alliance with her former assistant Emily (Blunt), now head of a luxury brand. The original 2006 film, based on Lauren Weisberger's novel, grossed over $326 million globally and inspired a West End musical.

Blunt previously noted the sequel's emotional significance, as she and Tucci became brother-in-law and sister-in-law in real life. Anna Wintour, the inspiration for Priestly, praised the original film, calling it 'a fair shot' with 'a lot of humour'.

The film is part of a busy year for Hathaway, who also stars in Mother Mary, Verity, Flowervale Street, and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will debut amid a summer of sequels including Scary Movie 6, Toy Story 5, Minions 3, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
