YouTuber Gary Hanna, who has travelled across the UK to sample various plates, has declared that a venue in Telford, just 40 minutes from Wales, serves one of the best breakfasts in the country. The restaurant, Embers, is located in a forest near Shrewsbury and cooks everything over burning wood.
Embers: A Forest Breakfast Destination
Embers was founded in 2017 by Adam, who previously ran a YouTube channel called 'Shropshire Lad'. According to Embers' website, Adam's passion for cooking with fire and using local ingredients led him to leave his career as a Youth and Community Worker in February 2022 to focus on the business full-time. Adam later won Heston Blumenthal's 'Crazy Delicious' Netflix show and appeared as a critic on MasterChef: The Professionals.
Gary Hanna, who has 493,000 YouTube subscribers, visited Embers and ordered three breakfasts: the Fisherman's Friend, Big Breakfast, and Pork Hash, along with three cups of tea, for a total of £55.50.
Review: A 10/10 Experience
In his review, Gary said: “Guys I can’t recommend this enough. I really can’t recommend it enough. As I say, independently owned, it’s in the middle of nowhere. I tell you what, on a beautiful summer's day....If you’re ever in the area come down. See what I’m talking about. Come in and see what I’m talking about. This is easy a 10 out of 10 for me and I’m giving it a 10 star. It’s there as one of the best breakfasts... best breakfast I’ve ever had. And you can’t knock the size of the tea either, happy days.”
In the video caption, he added: “I'm in Ironbridge today just outside of Shrewsbury and I've headed to Embers which in my opinion is serving up the best breakfast in the whole of the country... wait for this. Wow!”
