X Factor star Mason Noise unrecognisable after girlfriend's death

X Factor star Mason Noise has revealed that the death of his girlfriend led him to abandon his music career and become a spiritual healer, a decade after his infamous clash with Simon Cowell.

Mason, whose real name is Mason Binnell, said in a TikTok post that his life "fell apart" after the show, but not for the reasons people think. He explained that while he was touring, earning money, and attracting record label interest, his partner's death made everything feel meaningless.

From Rapper to Reiki Healer

The 33-year-old now describes himself on Instagram as a "Musician, Reiki Healer, [and] Inner-Explorer". His appearance has changed drastically since his 2015 X Factor days, when he wore snap caps and kept his facial hair neat. He now sports a longer beard with a grey chin stripe, a nose piercing, and often wears a bandanna or bucket hat.

In the TikTok video, Mason said: "After The X Factor, my whole life fell apart and it wasn’t for the reasons people think. It wasn’t because I dropped the mic and f****d my career up."

Life After the Mic Drop

Mason became one of the most talked-about contestants in 2015 after his row with Simon Cowell during the Six Chair Challenge. He slammed the amount of time given for his audition, and after a heated exchange, Cowell told him to leave the stage. Mason dropped his microphone and walked off in protest.

Despite the drama, he was later invited back for the live shows under the mentorship of Nick Grimshaw. He finished in seventh place and joined the live tour.

Mason said he had to "retreat in order to try and heal" after his partner's death. He added: "I searched far and wide and looked at all sorts of different healing modalities in order to try and crawl back to myself somehow. It took me a long time and the reason I’m sharing my story now is because I think it might help some people."
