Nicole Kerr, now 62, was pronounced dead for 13 minutes after a catastrophic car crash at age 19. She says she was sent back with a profound message: death is not real—it is only the beginning.
The Crash and First Death
Kerr, a former Air Force cadet, remembers seeing her life flash before her eyes as her car spun out of control, hit a boulder, and ejected her. She was found “crumpled up like a piece of paper.” Pronounced dead at the scene, she was covered with a blanket.
“I watched them pull that blanket over my body with a detachment that felt entirely natural,” she said. “Streams of brilliant white light flooded me from all sides. It wrapped every part of my being and felt like bliss. Instead of the pain of the impact, I only felt peace. And then, I was greeted by an angel, who I realised was my late grandfather. He showed me that the life I was living wasn’t really mine.”
Lessons from the Other Side
Kerr realised she had joined the Air Force Academy only to please her father, suppressing her own spirit. “I had only joined the Academy to please my father. I was living in a constant state of low-grade fear, trying to fit into a military mould that didn’t align with my soul. I’d been living for someone else’s approval and suppressing my own spirit to survive. I felt the weight of all that fear just melt away in the light. There was only total acceptance.”
The angel then told Kerr it was time to return. “I shouted that I didn’t want to go and that I wanted to stay in that bliss forever. But I had no choice.”
Return to Life and Subsequent Deaths
A bystander who was an emergency medical technician gave Kerr a sternal knuckle press, causing her right pupil to flinch. Paramedics performed CPR, and she was rushed into surgery. Her injuries included multiple fractures, a shattered pelvis, crushed wrist, significant head and chest trauma, and a nearly amputated foot due to nerve damage.
Two weeks later, she developed sepsis and gangrene. “My parents were told I wasn’t expected to live long. I was rushed into surgery where my heart stopped—again. After going to the brilliant white light, another angel greeted me and told me my work on Earth was not yet done. There was a mission waiting for me.” Her heart restarted just as doctors were about to call her time of death.
Three months later, fluid filled her lungs, and she suffocated, experiencing her third near-death experience. The same message was relayed: her mission was not complete. After being “zapped” back into her body, she resolved to teach others about the true meaning of life and death.
Spreading the Message
“For years, I hesitated to share my experience out of the fear of being misunderstood or labelled ‘crazy’. But then I found other experiencers like me and realised those 13 minutes of death were actually the start of my new life. Death is not the end. We’re all deathless beings having a temporary physical experience. I’m grateful to be able to talk about my experience and give strength to others. I came back to tell people they are loved beyond measure and help them look at God and Heaven in a way that is not filled with fear. My mission is to tell people not to be afraid of death so you can fully live this life now before you move into your next one.”
