Vogue Williams is less than three months away from giving birth to her fourth child with Spencer Matthews, but the couple can't agree on a name. In a radio interview with Jamie Theakston on Heart Breakfast, Williams, 40, revealed two names she loved but were vetoed by her husband.
Vetoed names: Sailor and Rocket
Williams said she loved the name Sailor, but Spencer vetoed it because of the song "A Sailor Went To Sea." Theakston commented it was "not the worst" name, but added, "That's not the reason why it's a bad idea. It's got to be a name, not an occupation."
She also loved Rocket, but Theakston disagreed, saying, "Again, that's not a name - that's a vehicle." Williams retorted, "Think about what you'd want to be called. I'd love to be called Rocket. And for people closest to me, I'd say, 'Call me Rocks.'"
Name choices spark debate
Theakston shared he wanted to be called "Darren" as a child, to which Williams replied, "I was called Vogue. Imagine how that felt!" In June, Williams admitted the name she and Matthews have settled on is "f***ed." On her podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me, she warned, "I'm just going to warn everyone, the name we love is f****d. Okay. It's mad."
She explained that when she told co-host Joanne McNally, her friend "flinched," making her think, "Oh it's a big name." McNally admitted she was "a bit taken aback," adding, "It's the heaviest hitter yet, isn't it? You'd have to say of the four, it's the heaviest hitter."
Family and pregnancy journey
Williams conceded, "It's such a big first name. We're going to do a normal middle name just in case so the baby can choose." She and Matthews already share three children: Theodore, seven, Gigi, five, and Otto, three. They announced the pregnancy in April.
Williams previously revealed she suffered two pregnancy losses, one before Gigi's birth and another last year. On her YouTube channel, she said the loss occurred when she was about three months pregnant. She felt "quite sick" but not as sick as usual, and later discovered the embryo hadn't grown.
