Victoria Beckham 'destroyed' by son Brooklyn's latest family betrayal
Victoria Beckham 'destroyed' by Brooklyn's latest betrayal

Victoria Beckham has been left "destroyed and infuriated" after her eldest son Brooklyn rejected an olive branch from his sister Harper, deepening the family rift on what should have been a proud day for the family.

The tension unfolded after David Beckham received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday 12 June. The star-studded ceremony was attended by the couple's three younger children—Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14—along with A-list friends Tom Cruise and Eva Longoria. However, Brooklyn, 27, and his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham were notably absent.

Following the event, Harper was photographed arriving at Brooklyn's Los Angeles home to deliver a letter to her brother. But Brooklyn and Nicola later issued a statement blasting the move as "choreographed."

Brooklyn's statement 'destroyed' Victoria

A representative for Brooklyn said, "That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras." According to a source close to the family, the words "destroyed and infuriated" Victoria.

"To say Victoria is devastated is an understatement," the source said. "She's absolutely heartbroken that Brooklyn has reacted to his sister's visit in this way. This was Harper's olive branch, but it's been thrown back in her face and that's infuriated Victoria. This latest move from Brooklyn has just destroyed her, she's terrified there's no way back for them now. She's absolutely at breaking point now and who can blame her?"

History of accusations

This is not the first time Brooklyn has accused his parents of orchestrating a PR campaign. In January, he made bombshell claims that David, 51, and Victoria, 52, valued "public promotion and endorsements above all else," adding that "Brand Beckham comes first." He also claimed to have been "controlled by my parents for most of my life" and said that "performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into."

He accused his parents of trying to "ruin" his marriage to Nicola, 31, and confirmed he was no longer on speaking terms with them.

Impact on the family

The latest blow has knocked Victoria and David for six. "Victoria has always hoped that time would heal things, so she was stunned when Brooklyn doubled down and issued a public statement about Harper's visit," the source said. "He's not backing down on his view that the Beckhams are 'performative', using Harper as a prop, and that enrages Victoria. Because, while her kids really do mean everything to her, it is also important that her public persona isn't damaged, because she's worked so hard to create a brand that she's proud of. For Brooklyn to use that against her, well it's a nightmare for her."

David is reportedly "absolutely furious" and felt the controversy overshadowed his big day. "He's sick of being asked about it," the source added. "He's worried about Victoria and Harper, too – the girls have been really shaken by it."

No going back?

The source says Victoria feels there is no going back now. "Regardless of everything that's happened, Victoria would still do anything for Brooklyn. If he came back tomorrow she'd welcome him with open arms," the source continued. "However, that's looking less and less likely. His latest statement shocked both her and David, and this really does feel like the final nail in the coffin. Victoria's terrified this is the end of their relationship, but she'll never stop hoping her boy will come back to her. It's driving her to despair, she's at her wits' end. David is furious and has told Victoria to stop trying with Brooklyn now. He's done with the drama. But she's a mum and she'll never give up hope of getting her boy back."

The Walk of Fame ceremony

Despite the family rift, the rest of the Beckham clan put on a united front at the ceremony. Romeo brought his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, and Cruz was joined by his partner Jackie Apostel. The family watched proudly as David dedicated the honour to them, fighting back tears as he said, "My beautiful children, who are the reason I get out of bed in the morning… Kids, I'm going to get emotional now, I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big. To make you all proud is my greatest achievement. I'm so grateful to you all."

Tom Cruise and Eva Longoria also spoke at the ceremony. Cruise praised David's "beautiful family" and told him, "You earned this, and nobody deserves it more, my friend." Victoria gave an emotional speech highlighting David's "kindness, his loyalty and his commitment to the people that he loves."

While no one mentioned Brooklyn by name, his absence was notable—he lives only 20 minutes from the ceremony location. Instead, he later shared a picture of himself jogging in New York with Nicola, appearing unbothered by the family drama.
