Vicky Pattison has dismissed rumours that she is leaving Strictly Come Dancing, following the departure of her co-star Dani Dyer due to injury. The former Geordie Shore star, who is partnered with Kai Widdrington, expressed her disappointment at losing her 'dressing room buddy' from the competition.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, Pattison said: 'She'll be a big miss, she was my dressing room buddy and Strictly best pal, other than Kai.' She added: 'I know she's absolutely gutted, but we're gutted to lose her, she was a ray of sunshine, a brilliant little dancer, just a nice person.'
Pattison also admitted to feeling nervous about her own performance, describing herself as a 'bundle of nerves' and discussing the 'highs and lows' of rehearsals. With humour, she noted that her first dance, the cha-cha-cha, is 'a little bit spicy' and joked that it is 'the first time I've danced sober.'
Dani Dyer, the Love Island winner, withdrew from the show after fracturing her ankle during rehearsals. In an emotional Instagram post, she said: 'I'm so heartbroken... I was having the best time ever... It's just a very, very annoying, devastating thing.' She confirmed that doctors advised her not to dance, forcing her exit.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.55pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
