Vernon Kay Supports Tess Daly After Marriage Split

Vernon Kay has been seen supporting Tess Daly, proving they remain close friends despite announcing the end of their 22-year marriage in May 2026. The former couple confirmed their split via a joint statement on their Instagram Stories, just months before what would have been their 23rd wedding anniversary in September.

How They Met and Married

Tess, 57, and Vernon, 52, first met in 2001 at a BBC Christmas party while working for rival channels. They married two years later in 2003 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Horwich, near Bolton, Vernon's hometown. The couple have two daughters, Phoebe and Amber.

Statement Confirming Separation

Their statement read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us." They added: "We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority."

Recent Support for Tess's Business

Despite their split, Vernon has been showing support for Tess's swimwear brand, Naia Beach, which she co-founded in 2021 with friend Gayle Lawton. The brand recently expanded into activewear. Last week, Vernon was seen supporting Tess as she headed to Greece for a campaign shoot. More recently, he joined Tess and Gayle at John Lewis' headquarters to showcase their latest range. A photo posted to Naia Beach's Instagram Story showed the trio, with the caption: "We even had a little visitor... And he even wanted to pick his favourite NAIA piece - and it wasn't the men's swim shorts." A video of Vernon selecting his favourite piece was shared, followed by the caption: "Thanks Vern." Tess reshared the video with crying laughing emojis.
