Vanessa Feltz Emotional After Channel 5 Show Ends

Vanessa Feltz issued an emotional message hours after her Channel 5 talk show, Vanessa, came to an end. The daytime series, which premiered in March 2025, was cancelled due to low viewership, averaging around 50,000 viewers per episode compared to ITV's Loose Women, which pulls in 800,000 to 1.2 million viewers.

Show's Cancellation Confirmed

A Channel 5 spokesperson confirmed the cancellation last month, stating: “Due to afternoon scheduling changes, ‘Vanessa’ will be rested from July 17th. We thank Vanessa and her team at ITN for 18 months of warm, witty, wise and searingly honest shows. Vanessa remains a valued member of the 5 family and we are discussing future projects together.”

Final Episode and Emotional Moments

The final episode aired on Friday, July 17, with guests Danniella Westbrook, Cosmo Landesman, and Lizzie Cundy. A touching moment occurred when Vanessa's daughter Saskia and grandson AJ surprised her with flowers. At the start of the episode, Vanessa said: “I feel very, very sad this is the last show. To anybody who is sending me nice messages, I really appreciate it. I’m going to end up snivelling and sobbing. I’m okay at the moment, but I could go at any moment so bear with me.”

A pre-recorded video from her Channel 5 colleague Jeremy Vine brought her to tears. He said: “You’re amazing. We’re going to miss you in the afternoons, your company. You bring the sunshine. I hope you enjoy your last show. I hope we’re going to work together again. Lots of love, dear Vanessa.” Vanessa replied: “Oh my Gosh, I love him to the max. I’ve worked with Jeremy for a long, long time and I absolutely adore him.”

Future Plans

Just before the show concluded, Vanessa confirmed she is “not going to hide under a rock” and will launch a new online series called At Home With Vanessa, filmed at her home and airing on YouTube. She teased it is going “to be really great fun.”

Social Media Tribute

Following the episode, Vanessa took to Instagram to share a message and a photo with the behind-the-scenes team. She wrote: “With all my heart, thank you to the wonderful, kind, supportive, creative, hilarious, unforgettable @vanessafeltzon5 team. Oh my goodness, I will miss you all so much.”
