Vanessa Feltz Bids Emotional Farewell to Channel 5 Viewers

Vanessa Feltz bid an emotional farewell live on air during the final episode of her Channel 5 daytime programme, 'Vanessa,' on Friday, July 17. The 64-year-old presenter fought back tears as she addressed viewers, admitting she felt "very, very sad" that the show was ending after 18 months. The broadcaster had previously announced the show would be "rested" due to afternoon scheduling changes.

Surprise Family Visit

During the episode, Feltz was joined by guests Danniella Westbrook, Cosmo Landesman, and Lizzie Cundy. However, the emotional highlight came when her daughter, Saskia Kurer, and grandson AJ surprised her with bunches of flowers. Kurer told her mother: "We've come to surprise you, because we knew that today was going to be hard. We absolutely love you, and we couldn't be more proud of the work that you've done on this show."

Viewers React

Viewers were quick to express their emotions on social media. One wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Really love the Vanessa Show, going to really miss it." Another said: "Vanessa's family visiting her at the studio! I'm crying." A third commented: "Oh Vanessa Feltz on 5's final show is so emotional.. till we meet again Ms. Feltz." One viewer even called her "my rock."

We thank Vanessa and her team at ITN for 18 months of warm, witty, wise, and searingly honest shows. Vanessa remains a valued member of the Channel 5 family, and we are discussing future projects together." At the end of the show, Feltz announced she is launching a new online series called 'At Home With Vanessa,' filmed from her house, adding: "I'm not going to hide under a rock."
