Tom Welling jokes after accidentally sharing nude photo

Smallville star Tom Welling has responded with humour after accidentally sharing an explicit image on social media. The 49-year-old actor inadvertently posted a photo of himself unclothed while sharing a snap of the New York skyline to announce his arrival at this year's Comic-Con.

Fans noticed a faint outline of his naked body reflected in the glass, and the picture remained online for 10 hours before being taken down. The post left his 2.2 million followers in shock.

Light-hearted response

Welling has taken the mishap in good spirits, commenting with laughing and heart emojis under posts that poked fun at the situation. His Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum also made light of the blunder by sharing his own version of the picture with the caption: 'Just looking after my boy'.

Under a post from Hello Magazine celebrating his casual response, Welling cheekily replied: 'Not intentional, but still reflecting on it,' which amused fans further.

Comic-Con appearance

Despite the error, Welling attended the Comic-Con panel dedicated to Smallville, which marked 15 years since the show ended. He portrayed Clark Kent across 10 seasons of the CW series until 2011.

During the panel, Welling did not address the Instagram story incident, but the discussion unexpectedly veered into nude photos. He recalled a time his co-star John Glover asked him to sign a nude photo of himself.

'He thought it was so cute. He [was] like: "Is this really you?" I'm like: "Yep." And I signed it for him,' Welling reminisced.
