Georgia Toffolo admits she has made only one friend in Scotland
Toffolo: only one friend since moving to Scotland

Former Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo has revealed that she has struggled to make friends since moving to Scotland with her husband, James Watt. The 32-year-old said the move, which took her more than 500 miles from her former home in Chelsea, has been socially isolating so far.

One friend in three years

Sharing an update with her TikTok followers, the former I'm A Celebrity star said: "I haven't spoken about this enough. Obviously we don't live here full-time but part of the time for three years now and I've only made one friend!"

She added: "I'm quite embarrassed about it which is why I don't really talk about it – that is the truth."

Toffolo explained that the one "proper girlfriend" she has made in Scotland was someone she originally met in a nightclub in Chelsea. "So actually I haven't made any friends in three years if we're being honest," she said.

Reality of starting a new life

Opening up further about the experience, she said: "I just wanted to make the point that actually there's loads of content about moving to a different country or going somewhere or starting a new life and making loads of friends [but] that has not been my reality at all."

She continued: "I don't think there should be any like shame around it but I just think it's quite funny to talk about because it's like I just think everyone would think someone like me would move to a different country and make a big friendship group. I just haven't done it!"

She added that she has only recently considered that it may be because she has a lot of free time in Scotland that she does not have in London, and noted the difficulty of making new friends "particularly if you don't have a job locally, you don't have children locally… biologically."

Change in style

Toffolo previously admitted that moving to Scotland had changed her fashion choices. "Before I met James, my wardrobe was 75 per cent going out stuff, 25 per cent casual, because I lived in central London and I was just generally quite dressy," she told The Sun in 2024.

"Now that we've really split ourselves between Scotland and London, my fashion has become way more elevated cool but casual. I've still got my beautiful things, and we're so fortunate. I go to so many lovely places. But I'm concentrating on more everyday wear whereas before it was like real showcase luxury."

James and Georgia first met in 2023 after going on a blind date. After marrying, the pair now split their time between London and Aberdeenshire.
