Tess Daly and Vernon Kay reunited over the weekend to celebrate their eldest daughter Phoebe's 22nd birthday at The BoTree in London, months after confirming their separation. The former couple shared pictures and videos from the event on Instagram, with both describing the occasion as a memorable evening.
Split Confirmed Earlier This Year
The Stockport and Bolton-born stars, who met in 2001 while working for rival channels and reportedly crossed paths at a BBC Christmas party, announced their decision to separate in May. They marked 23 years of marriage in September.
In a joint statement shared on their Instagram Stories at the time, they said: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us."
Vernon, 52, and Tess, 57, added: "We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority."
Birthday Celebrations at The BoTree
Phoebe, who recently returned to the UK after spending half of the year living in New York, shared pictures from the birthday bash, which included a personalised cocktail menu and BBC Radio 2's Vernon on the DJ decks. She wrote on Instagram: "Birthday bash for the books. The best evening celebrating with all my favourite people and family. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting than @the_botree truly one to remember."
Tess also shared her own posts from the event, including pictures of her posing with Vernon and clips of him DJing. She wrote: "The best time celebrating our @phoebeekay. With the beautiful backdrop of @the_botree London."
Tributes to Phoebe
The former couple, who also share teenage daughter Amber, posted tributes to Phoebe on social media. Alongside pictures of the pair together from childhood to now, Tess wrote: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful Phoebe [heart emoji]. I’m so incredibly proud of the kind, caring and beautiful soul you are. Your big heart and the love you show others make you truly special. Never stop shining, chasing your dreams and staying true to yourself [stars and heart emojis]. So lucky to be your mum and forever cheering you on. Love you more than words can say."
Vernon shared his own photos, including one of him and Phoebe together recently and another of Tess with their daughter when she was younger, and said: "Happy Birthday @phoebeekay!!! Time flies!! [heart emoji] A joy watching you become the woman you are!" In response, Tess wrote: "Our baby [heart emoji]," as their celebrity friends and fans also sent birthday wishes.
