American news presenter Taryn Asher was caught on camera during a furious outburst moments before going live on Fox 2 Detroit. During the expletive-filled rant, the investigative reporter labelled the programme's executive producer a "b***h" and blasted: "What the f**k," after she was given instructions.
Heated Exchange on Set
This came after a heated exchange in which the now-fired star seemingly made a mistake and said: "I'm going to have to do that again." After the crew member responded: "I think you're in a script," Taryn blurted back: "I am, I'm in Amy's script, the Amy's angels one."
She explained: "The second thing didn't make sense, so I was just trying to fix that part," to which the off-camera producer responded: "That's not even our job, we're still working." Before she could finish, Taryn retorted: "I know, but I didn't have time because we have to do this, so I was still reading it."
Tensions Boil Over
Tensions reached a boiling point after the seemingly fed-up producer then questioned: "Could you let me finish, please?" After some more back and forth, Taryn hit back: "I don't think you are, you're walking out of here really angry," before returning to face the camera and branding the producer a "b***h."
As the producer appeared to be out of the room, voices could be heard, with one asking: "What the hell is going on here?" The presenter then mocked: "Can I please finish what I was going to say?" She added: "What the f***k, grow up." Despite being touched up by wardrobe, Taryn raged: "I'm so done with her antics. Telling on me every five seconds, I'm done."
Firing and Legal Battle
Although the outburst took place last year, the footage has circulated across social media after being published online by TMZ. Taryn, who was fired this year for "unprofessional behaviour," is now reportedly locked in a legal battle with her employer over workplace discrimination.
According to US reports, the news anchor was warned about the outburst in December of 2023 and was eventually taken off the air last November. In May, she received a letter telling her she had been fired. The 38-year-old then allegedly filed a lawsuit in June, claiming to be the victim of gender discrimination, and then re-filed it the following month.
Taryn last posted on social media six months ago and addressed her absence from Fox 2, thanking fans for their support. She penned: "Right now, I'm working to thoughtfully resolve a work-related matter that was unexpected, and I appreciate your patience and understanding as that process continues. I truly believe that, in time, things have a way of becoming clear. I've also been grateful for the chance to get away and spend meaningful time with my daughter and share special moments with close friends – lots of love and laughter – a reminder of what matters most. Thank you for standing by me. Thank you for caring. And thank you for your continued support."
