Susan Boyle Surprises TRNSMT Festival Crowd

Susan Boyle made an unexpected appearance at TRNSMT Festival over the weekend, stunning fans who saw the 65-year-old singer enjoying the crowd. The Britain's Got Talent star, who suffered a stroke in 2022, has been making the most of her comeback in recent weeks.

Surprise Appearance at TRNSMT

Boyle was spotted in the crowd at Glasgow's TRNSMT Festival, wearing a Lewis Capaldi merchandise T-shirt as she cheered on her friend. During Capaldi's sold-out performance, he acknowledged Boyle from the stage, saying, "Give it up for Susan Boyle." The crowd responded with chants of "No SuBo no party," as Boyle turned around and raised her hands, cheering along.

Another video showed Boyle giving a thumbs-up and blowing kisses to front-row fans. Clips circulated on social media, with one fan saying, "Wait cause when Lewis said that Susan Boyle was in the crowd, I thought he was joking." Another added, "One legend watching another."

Recovery from Stroke

Boyle suffered a stroke in 2022 that left her unable to sing or speak for several years. She underwent speech therapy and vocal lessons to recover. In recent weeks, she debuted a striking blonde bob and teamed up with Cornetto UK and Ireland for a promotional track, Just One (ReMAXed Remix), for Cornetto Max.

Speaking about supporting Capaldi, Boyle told the Daily Record: "It's good to give him some extra support." She ruled out joining him on stage, saying, "I'll be supporting him from afar tonight... all the best for tonight, Lewis!" However, she hinted at a possible future collaboration, adding she's keeping her "fingers crossed" for something "like the Cornetto advert."

Friendship with Lewis Capaldi

Boyle and Capaldi are friends who come from neighbouring towns and attended the same high school, St Kentigern's Academy. They also shared the same hairdresser. Speaking previously to The Sun, Boyle said: "I think he is absolutely great. He has so much stuff to cope with, and he is doing so well. He doesn't need any advice from me. Lewis can do or play anything, he is so talented."

A source close to Boyle said: "Susan is a big fan of Lewis and thinks he’s amazing. She feels she's overcome a lot of challenges herself and would love the chance to do a duet or sing one of his songs. It would be a real honour for her to be there."
