Strictly Star Lacey Turner in Tears After BBC Bosses' Telling Off
Strictly Star Lacey Turner in Tears After BBC Telling Off

Lacey Turner has revealed she was left in tears after a telling off from BBC bosses while working on the set of EastEnders. The Strictly Come Dancing star, who plays Stacey Slater in the soap, shared the story while promoting her new autobiography, Gold Dust.

Mischief on Set Leads to a Reprimand

Turner recalled a time when she and her co-star Louisa Lytton were being "really mischievous" during filming. She explained that the relentless schedule of working on a soap left them exhausted, and they ended up with the giggles that they could not stop.

The pair were sent to the production manager's office for wasting time. However, during the "very serious telling off," Turner and Lytton kept poking each other in the leg because behind the production manager on the wall was a picture of the two of them dressed as Peggy and Pat from a Heat photoshoot.

Laughter and Family Secrets

Turner told Heat Magazine: "I don't know how we held it together, we were crying with laughter as soon as we left the room."

Many fans may not know that Turner's sister also appeared on EastEnders, as even bosses had no idea they were related. During Turner's 2010 hiatus, her sister Lily Harvey joined the cast using their mother's surname professionally. Lily played Shenice Quinn, the daughter of Kat Slater's friend Martine, when she was only nine years old.

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood admitted: "Whether by accident or design, I sat down and watched a [video] tape of a very talented young girl. And it was only after we decided that I was told it was Lacey's sister. So it was a complete accident."

Another Sister in Soapland

Turner's other sister, Daisy Turner, has also starred in a soap, playing Jenny Houston in Hollyoaks back in 2011 when she was 20. She told the Liverpool Echo at the time: "All three of us do it. Lacey and I acted as kids. Our mum, Bev, let us do everything singing, dancing and acting. I was at home with my mum and sisters when I got the call to say I'd got the part [in Hollyoaks]. Lacey said if I need her, she is there."
