Stacey Solomon was left unimpressed with her husband Joe Swash attempting to cuddle her during the ongoing heatwave. The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, have been subject to rumours about their relationship in recent months. Former X Factor star Stacey was even quizzed on national TV about not always wearing her wedding ring.
Asked why she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring, Stacey said: “Do you know what, I'm terrible, I don't read any of that! In fact, does anyone anymore read any of that rubbish? We just, have I not been wearing my ring? I probably took it off to go to the toilet or something! I mean, I don't know...”
Stepping Back from Social Media
Following weeks of rumours about her and her husband, Stacey ended up speaking out about the impact the speculation was having on her family in a series of videos posted to her Instagram Story. Stacey went on to tell her millions of followers she was stepping back from sharing on her large platform for a while before returning at the end of April.
Speaking Out on Relationship Pressures
Recently speaking to her Sort Your Life Out co-star Dilly Carter on the Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, Stacey said: “Who cares if the whole world is like: 'Oh, they’re on the brink of divorce?' Being in the public eye I think creates certain pressures, but not on our relationship because half the time what they’re saying, 'If we know it’s not true, who cares?'”
On their relationship, the 36-year-old added: “Sometimes I fancy the pants off him and can't wait to come home to see him. Sometimes I’m like: 'Get out of my stratosphere – stay away from me.' I think we’re just like any other couple.”
Heatwave Cuddle Rejected
Recent weeks have seen the pair appearing to spend more time together, with them sharing their plans to expand upon their menagerie of pets by fostering ponies and bringing fans inside their recent camping trip with five of their six children. Like many couples this week, Stacey and Joe were struggling with a week where temperatures across the nation were in the 30s. Taking to Instagram on Friday night (June 26), Stacey shared a video of her and Joe sitting on the sofa.
Joe attempted to put his arm around his wife, only to be told that she needed a ‘one metre radius’ from him. Former EastEnders actor Joe was not impressed, to the point he asked was she ‘joking’.
“Sorry does anyone else’s husband feel like it’s OK to be anywhere near them right now in this heat. Like you don’t cuddle me at the best of times and then all of a sudden you’re all over me in 35 degree heat. Is that a joke? Is that an actual joke,” Stacey said.
With Joe laughing at Stacey’s request, the TV star insisted ‘ger your arm off me’. Joe then jokingly claimed that she was ‘using the weather as an excuse’ to avoid a cuddle.
“No seriously, it's too hot. It’s too hot for this rubbish. I just need to be a couple of metres away,” Stacey said before moving away from Joe.
