Russell Crowe Defended by Jo Frost After Fan Outburst

Russell Crowe received unexpected backing from former Supernanny Jo Frost on Tuesday after the actor was filmed berating fans outside a Paris hotel. The 62-year-old Gladiator star swiftly confronted autograph and selfie hunters who swarmed him during his latest appearance in Paris, where he is attending the French Open with girlfriend Britney Theriot.

Jo Frost's Defense

The fiery incident, captured by onlookers as Crowe emerged from his hotel, has divided fans. Frost, 55, weighed in on social media, writing: 'It's called rules and boundaries and if you abide by them, Russell is more than happy to oblige. Fair play.' Her post garnered widespread approval, with many followers agreeing. One commented: 'Agree. He's being very kind here offering what they want but they need to give him personal space. We old school people call it Manners and respect.' Another added: 'He already signed and as you can see there were many asking to get an autograph. He is not obligated to give any.'

Mixed Reactions

However, not everyone sided with Crowe. A critic wrote: 'He's still lucky he has fans. Some people don't even know who he is. He's more of a grumpy old man.'

The Incident

Crowe was seen erupting at fans after being instantly hemmed in as he exited his hotel. He ordered: 'Stay where you are. Don't f***ing push in on me. I'll come to you. Give everyone space.' He added: 'As soon as somebody is a d***, I'm gone. You got me?' Some individuals replied with 'Yes,' before Crowe stepped forward to calmly sign autographs on posters.

French Open Appearance

Crowe has been keeping busy in Paris, attending the French Open at Stade Roland Garros on Sunday. He watched Alexander Zverev of Germany defeat Benjamin Bonzi of France. During the match, Crowe caught a stray ball that flew into the crowd, showcasing his quick reflexes.

Relationship with Britney Theriot

Crowe was accompanied by girlfriend Britney Theriot, whom he was first romantically linked to in late 2020. They met years earlier on the set of the 2013 film Broken City. The pair made their red carpet debut in October 2022 at the premiere of his film Poker Face in Rome. However, Crowe told Australia's 60 Minutes they have no plans to marry: 'We are very, very good friends, and we have a wonderful relationship. My life is so joyous and happy at the moment - why ruin that with a wedding? I've been married once. I know how it can go and where it can go. So I don't need to go to that place.'
